We wrapped up an EPIC Phenix Rods 10 day trip with a few lingcod drifts this morning. It’s about the only thing we had room for as we just about filled the boat. We pretty much spent the entire trip driving away from fish. We had wide open fishing on 40-80 pound yellowfin tuna and good fishing on 80-190 pound bluefin to start the trip. Then had a night and a morning of wide open yellowtail fishing which we then followed up with good fishing on 150-290 pound bluefin. At that point we spent some time trying for exotics and picked up a few wahoo and found an area of 60-100 pound yellowfin that bit wide open. We spent a morning catching some grouper and a few larger yellowtail to add a little variety to our catch and then finished with decent fishing on 50-150 pound bluefin to just about top off our last well. The grade of fish was outstanding and is what filled us up. Quantity, Quality and Variety! TEAM RP
