The beat goes on (072907)
Written by Royal Polaris

Hello everyone, well as the title says, the beat goes on. Weather continues to be beautiful, with scattered clouds, light seas, and very warm days. One has to wonder, how long will this good weather continue.

As far as fishing goes, that's another story. We had fair action until the afternoon, then the flood gates opened. Our last stop of the day was on a kelp that produced excellent action on Yellowtail and Dorado. The Yellowtail were good quality, with most of the fish in the 18 to 25 pound category. It was bendo for all aboard.

As for the Yellowfin tuna action, it was on the slow side. It's not for the lack of fish, it's just they are feeding on large schools of Anchovies. It's like, why should I chase a large Sardine, when I can just open my month and get all the Anchovies I want.

The ocean is just full of life. Bait schools, feeding fish, large Dorado under kelps, it's like fishing in an aquarium. We will arrive to Fisherman's landing at 07:15 in the morning. We have a very nice load of fish, with a variety of species.

We will depart on our next trip, tomorrow morning, with Billy Santiago at the wheel. So until tomorrow, good luck and good fishing. The R/p crew (Roy, Billy, Dharyl, Jesus, Eddie, J.P., Jimmy, and Anthony)

Subject: Another day of kleps (072807)

Hello out there in web-land. I just can't believe this weather, but I can
take this every day of the week. Flat seas, clear skies, and very warm
days. Thanks for the great weather mother-nature.

Fishing on kelps continue to produce quality Dorado and Yellowtail.
Yellowtail up to 25 pounds, Dorado up to 25 pounds, what more could you ask
for. But what makes this so great, this is still July!! You are having
this great fall time fishing, in July. Tonight we made a few drifts for
some nice Red Rock-cod. I have fished Rock-cod for many years, and my luck
at night has been, nonexistence. But the good eating fish, made a pretty
good showing.

With one more day left to fish, Roy has not made a decision on what to do
next. But he did mention on trying offshore again, trying our luck at some
tuna. But it's hard to pass up on this excellent kelp fishing.

I forgot to thank a few people that make this trip so wonderful. We like to
thank Taka Tanaka for all the work he puts forward to this trip ever year.
We also like to thank Owner, Lead master, Cal-Star, Newell reels, Phil
Lambert, Scott Farnham, and Blackwater Inc.

So until tomorrow, wish us luck and we will keep you updated on our upcoming
events. The R/p crew.

P.S. Corky Yokoe would like to wish his wife a happy anniversary. It's not
his fault that it's late, Big D forgot to put it in, on the right date.

What a fun day (072707)

Hello everyone, well let's talk. Weather today was just tremendous, fabulous, outstanding, I just can't put it into words. We had flat seas, clear skies, and not warm, but HOT!!! The water temperature was 72.40 degrees, and the air temperature had to be in the upper 80's.

The weather was not the only thing that was hot today, so was our day of fishing. We just had a great day of fishing. We caught Dorado, Yellowtail, Yellowfin tuna, and even a nice batch of Calico bass, that we will have for lunch tomorrow. The Calico bass fishing was so hot, that a larger Black Sea Bass was trying to get into the action also. This Black Sea Bass would swim up from the bottom and grab a bass and try and take it back down to the bottom for his lunch.

The Dorado fishing was just excellent, with limit style fishing. Most of the Dorado were in the 12 to 15 pound range, with a few going over 20 pounds. The Yellowtail were in the 15 to 22 pound category. The Yellowfin, well let's just call them baby-giants again.

We are now headed north and try our luck at kelp fishing again, and then think about fishing Albacore the last day of the trip. Everyone is having a great time, and they look froward to another great day of fishing tomorrow. So until then, wish us luck and we will keep you updated on our upcoming events aboard the Royal Polaris.

A day of looking (072607)
Written by Royal Polaris
Thursday, 26 July 2007 18:02
Hello everyone, weather continues to be good, with a light breeze out of the northwest, clear skies, and warm days. Mother nature has been good to us lately

Now, lets talk about fishing. Our morning started out looking for kelps and signs of Yellowfin tuna. Kelp fishing for Yellowtail today was on the up side, but our Yellowfin catch was a bit slow. Most of the Yellowtail were in the 15 to 22 pound range, with a few going over 30 pounds. The Yellowfin, well let's just call those baby-giants for now.

We are now traveling south, in-search for Yellowfin and kelps again. We will try a new area tomorrow, so wish us luck and we will keep you up to date on what's going on. Until then, good luck and good fishing. The R/p crew.

Let's do it again (072507)

Hello everyone, we arrived to Fisherman's landing at 06:00 hours. We off loaded our passenger's and fish, loaded some fuel, passenger's, and bait. Now it's time to do it again. Our weather continues to be wonderful. Flat sea's, clear skies, and warm days. Roy Rose is at the wheel this trip, we started heading for points south. This is Taka's annual 5 day summer time trip. The group is ready to rumble, so let's get this party started.

Around 17:00 hours, we had two strikes on the troll, and it was Albacore. We had fish jumping around the boat, with anglers scrambling for there gear. We had Albacore around the boat, and they wanted to bite. As fast at the bite started, it was all over, but we put 23 Albacore on the boat. Most of the fish were in the 25 to 35 pound category. We made a look around the area, but it was a no-go for the rest of the night.

We are still heading for points south, and we should arrive to our fishing destination around 10:30 hours, tomorrow morning. We will be looking for Yellowfin, Bluefin, and possible more Albacore So wish us luck and we will update you tomorrow. The R/p crew.

Heading Home (072407)

Hello everyone, well that's a wrap. Our weather today was just gorgeous. Flat sea's, clear skies, and all the sunshine you could ask for. It was shorts and tee's all day long.

Today was just a fun day of fishing. We caught red's, lings, and whitefish. It was a nice way to finish the trip off, with some quality eating fish. We finished our day at 16:45 hours, and called it a trip. The crew cleaned the boat, Billy gave the his end of trip meeting and it was time for a great dinner.

Our ETA tomorrow morning is 06:00 hours. At that time we will off load our passenger's and fish, and get the boat ready for our next trip. Our next trip will depart at 11:00 hours. This is Taka's 5 day summer time extravaganza. So until tomorrow, wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew. (Billy, Roy, Dharyl, Eddie, J.P., Rafeal, Jim, and Tony).

An excellent day of Yellowtail fishing (072307)

Hello everyone, weather continues to be just wonderful. Flat sea's, clear skies, that's just what the doctor order. Not only was the weather out of this world, so was our fishing.

We had an excellent day of fishing. We spent the day at Cedros island, and it was wonderful. Most of the Yellowtail were in the 18 to 25 pound category, but many just might go over the 30 pound mark, and a few in the 40 to 50 pound range. The Halibut didn't bite as well, but we did catch a few.

Everyone aboard is just having a great time. Some of our anglers are on there first 5 day trip, and they can't believe the quality in the fish. Some can't wait until next year.

After spending a day at the island, we are now headed north, and should arrive to San Martin island by 10:30 hours. We will give it a try most of the day, then call it a trip. So until tomorrow, wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. Until then, good luck and good fishing. The R/p crew.
