Hello everyone, we arrived to Fisherman's landing in the early morning hours. Off loaded passengers and fish, loaded fuel and passengers, and departed Fisherman's landing at 09:15 hours. We have a decent load of bait and we are now headed for points south. This is our annual Blackwater charters. We only have 14 passengers aboard, and they are ready to do battle. The charter is sponsored by Don and Tracy Kuroye. Frank is at the helm this trip, and he will be writing the report for the rest of the trip. Our weather is great for traveling south, with a slight breeze out of the northwest at 12 knots, light seas and clear skies. So until tomorrow, wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Tickets to see Barry Bonds hit his 756th home run, $25.00. Flat screen TV to see Chargers/Raiders game in September, $990.00. Fishing aboard the Royal Polaris, with the Queen of Hearts gang, PRICELESS!!! Hello everyone, well I can't say to much about this trip. We have had excellent weather, outstanding fishing, and just a great group of people to be around.

Our morning started out catching Mackerel for bait, but believe me, they came in handy. After bait making, it was time to start catching some quality Yellowtail. We had another excellent day of fishing at the island. Most of the Yellowtail were in the 25 to 35 pounds, with a few close to the 40 pound mark. These are just beautiful fish. Our anglers were put to the test today, with most of the fish trying to get to the heavy kelp area. We fished the morning on the south end, but by lunch time we made a move to the east side of the island. This move would be the surprise of the trip. We made a few drift for Halibut, and the move payed off.

We started catching more quality Yellowtail, along with some nice Halibut. We started catching Halibut up to 30 pounds. We did release 4 Halibut that were short, and a White Sea Bass. I think we caught 4 Yellowtail today under 25 pounds, the rest were all over 25 pounds. We had one box of fish that we weighed on the boat, and all the fish were between 25.6 pounds to 35 pounds. Man what a trip.

Once the sunset, Billy made the decision to make a move to the northwest, and try our luck at the illusive Bluefin tuna. The way this trip is going, who know what we might catch tomorrow. So until then, wish us luck. The R/p crew.

Whites, Yellows, and Flats (080107)

Whites, Yellows, and Flats, that's whats going on. Hello everyone, well the beat goes on. Weather continues to be out of this world. Flat seas, clear skies, and warm days, and great fishing on the Royal Polaris, "priceless". That's what you could say about yesterday aboard the R/p.

We arrived to Cedros at 05:45 hours, Billy looked around, then put the anchor down. It didn't take long for Sunny Cruz to hook into the Sea Bass of his life. After a short battle, Sunny would land a whopping 47 pound White Sea Bass, his personnel best. We would land a few more Yellowtail, before we would make a move. After a few more hook-ups on Yellowtail, we would make the drift of the day, with 7 hook-ups, and landing 4 more White Sea Bass in the 25 pound category. Lucky anglers were Jesse Lara, Stephen Lee, Sal Catania, and his brother Joe Catania.

We would have fair action for the rest of the day, with 3 to 5 fish going on each drift. Most of the Yellowtail were in the 18 to 25 pound range, with a few going 30 plus. At the end of the day we did land one Halibut. It was a good day of fishing, with verity and quality. We caught White Sea Bass, Calico Bass, Barracuda, Bonita, Yellowtail, and Halibut. Another fun day of fishing. As the sun was setting, Billy had a decision to make. What to do next? Billy decided to give Cedros another day. So with that statement, I will close by saying, wish us luck and we will keep you updated on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

An excellent day of kelps (073107)
Written by Royal Polaris

WOW!!! That's all I can say about todays fishing. Hello everyone, weather continues to be fabulous. Flat seas, overcast skies, and warm afternoons. What more could you ask for.

Now the fishing part of the trip. I thought last trip was good, but this trip is starting out to be grrrreat. We had an excellent day of kelp fishing. Dorado up to 35 pounds, Yellowtail up to 35 pounds. We had plenty of action all day long. The morning started out a bit slow, but by 09:00 hours, the action was hot and steady.

We had many anglers out for there first time, and they did a wonderful job. Dennis Garcia is on his first trip, and he caught his first Dorado. Dennis first Dorado was estimated at 30 pounds, way to go Dennis Largest Dorado for the day was caught by Stan Wong. Stan fish was estimated at 35 pounds, but might be even larger. Sherry Ingles was on fire today, she showed her husband how it's done. Sherry caught her limit of Dorado and Yellowtail today (daily limit 2 Dorado and 5 Yellowtail). Many of the Dorado were in the 15 pound category. The Yellowtail were in the 18 to 22 pound range, with many of them 25 to 30 pounds.

We departed the area around 18:00 hours, and now we are headed to Cedros island. With reports of larger Yellowtail being caught there, we will give a group a chance at some trophy moss-backs, and a chance at some other game fish (White Sea Bass, Halibut, and Calico Bass). Are ETA to Cedros is around 07:30 hours. So until tomorrow, wish us luck, and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Queen of Hearts (073007)
Written by Royal Polaris

Hello everyone, well we arrived to Fisherman's landing at 07:15 hours, off loaded our passengers, loaded grocery, and changed oil. At this point it was time to load the Queen of Hearts. We loaded our passenger's at 10:30 hours, in time to depart by 11:00 hours.

We loaded our bait and now we are headed for points south. This is the annual Queen of Hearts trip. Most of the group is out of the Bay Area, with many regulars on trip. Bob and Sherry Ingles are the charter-master of the trip. Bob has a boat out of Half Moon Bay.

We have a great load of bait, happy anglers, and high hopes for a good catch of fish. Everyone aboard was given a hat and tee-shirt from Bob and Sherry. With some of fisherman's on the boat, the only salt-water fish they have caught are Rock-cod and Salmon. This trip, will be a surprise for them. Billy Santiago will be at the helm this trip. So with that in mind, we will close for now, but we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

The beat goes on (072907)

Hello everyone, well as the title says, the beat goes on. Weather continues to be beautiful, with scattered clouds, light seas, and very warm days. One has to wonder, how long will this good weather continue.

As far as fishing goes, that's another story. We had fair action until the afternoon, then the flood gates opened. Our last stop of the day was on a kelp that produced excellent action on Yellowtail and Dorado. The Yellowtail were good quality, with most of the fish in the 18 to 25 pound category. It was bendo for all aboard.

As for the Yellowfin tuna action, it was on the slow side. It's not for the lack of fish, it's just they are feeding on large schools of Anchovies. It's like, why should I chase a large Sardine, when I can just open my month and get all the Anchovies I want.

The ocean is just full of life. Bait schools, feeding fish, large Dorado under kelps, it's like fishing in an aquarium. We will arrive to Fisherman's landing at 07:15 in the morning. We have a very nice load of fish, with a variety of species.

We will depart on our next trip, tomorrow morning, with Billy Santiago at the wheel. So until tomorrow, good luck and good fishing. The R/p crew (Roy, Billy, Dharyl, Jesus, Eddie, J.P., Jimmy, and Anthony)
