Albacore bite in the afternoon (082207)

Hello everyone, well our weather continues to be a bit up and down. We had 10 to 12 knots of breeze in the morning, and by mid-afternoon we had 15 to 18 knots out of the northwest. It was a bit tough at times, but when the fish are bitting, the weather is the last thing on your mind.

The morning started out a bit slow, but by mid-afternoon, we had good action on the longfins. Most of the Albacore are in the 18 to 25 pound catogory, with a few going close to 40 pounds. We also caught one Yellowtail, and it was about 22 pounds. We are now headed to Guadalupe island. We should arrive to the island in the late morning. We are hoping for some action on Yellowfin and Yellowtail tomorrow. Most of our passengers are looking forward to fishing and seeing the majestic island.

So with that note, wish us luck and we will keep you updated on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Hello everyone, well the once so great weather, is not so great now. We have 12 to 15 knots of breeze, with a small sea, just enough to make the boat go rock and roll. Overcast skies, and a bit of a chill in the air.

We departed Fisherman's landing at 10:15 hours, headed over to San Diego bait, loaded up and now we are headed for point to the west. We have reports of Albacore on the bit once again. Roy Rose is at the helm this trip, so who knows what we might catch this trip.

We arrived to the grounds just in time to catch a handful of Albacore. Most of the Albacore were in the 18 to 25 pound catogory, but a few going over 30 pounds.

This is the Okuma 5 day charter. We have lot's of new faces on the boat, and the crew is very busy getting their tackle ready for fishing. With 22 rent rods on the boat, the crew will be very busy tomorrow. So with that note, wish them luck and we will keep you updated on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Hi folks, the weather remains the same. The fishing started of a little on the slow side for us this morning, but after lunch we were back into limit-stlye albacore fishing. We finished up before dark and are now heading for points further south. Until then wish us luck, the R/p crew.

Hi folks, our weather continues to be good with sunny skies, 5-10 knots of wind. Today we enjoyed limit-style albacore fishing on excellent grade of fish in the 18-35 lb range. We also managed a couple of nice blue-fins to top off an already great day. We will try again tomorrow for the albies and hope for the same type of results, so wish us luck. We will keep you posted.
The R/p crew.
