Fishing 8/31
Written by Brandon Kreutel
Saturday, 01 September 2007 09:19
Hi folks, we departed fisherman's landing at 10:20 a.m., and after loading
bait, we cleared the point at 12:35p.m. We started fishing at 7:15 P.m. and
we found one little batch of fish that we got one bait fish out of. So I
guess you could say we got the black kitty off the boat. Fishing for the
fleet today was definitely off. There were plenty of fish seen, just not
many in the biting mood. We are hoping for a good day tomorrow, and we are
keeping our fingers crossed.

Wish us luck.

Another find day of Albacore fishing (082907)

Hello everyone, our weather took a big change. We had 20 knots of wind out of the northwest, but the seas were moderate. We had another excellent day of Albacore fishing. We finished off our trip limits today, and now we are headed for the beach. Roy made the decision to try for something different. So tomorrow we will try our luck at some Halibut, White Sea Bass, Calico Bass, Rock-Fish, or what ever wants to bite.

This has been an excellent trip. We had limit style Albacore fishing everyday, good weather until yesterday, but thats the weather. Most of the Albacore were in the 20 to 25 pound catogory, with a few going over the 30 pound mark. So until tomorrow, wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Albacore on fire (082907)
Written by Royal Polaris

Hello everyone, we had a change in weather today. We had 12 to 15 knots of wind, out of the northwest. Partly cloudy, with just a dash of sunshine.

Fishing continues to be excellent on quality Albacore. Most of the Albacore are in the 22 to 25 pound range, with many going over 30 pounds. With the excellent Albacore fishing, it's hard to talk about the schools of Bluefin we are seeing. With limit style fishing, we will give this another try tomorrow, so until then, wish us luck. The R/p crew.

Albacore on a roll (082707)
Written by Royal Polaris

Hello out there in web-land. Well let first talk about the weather. Weather today was very good, with a slight breeze out of the northwest at 8 to 10 knots, slightly overcast skies, with a very warm afternoon.

Our weather was not the only thing that was warm, so was the Albacore fishing. We had limit style fishing today on 22 to 30 pound Albie's. It was fair in the morning, but by late afternoon, the Albacore began to rumble. Our 29 passengers had a surprise today, with a brief showing of Bluefin tuna. The Bluefin were in the 15 to 20 class, with only a handful landed. All in all, today was just a great day of fishing.

Roy made the decision to give Albacore fishing another day, before thinking about trying something different. So with that note, I will close for now, but I will kept you posted on our daily reports. Until tomorrow, good luck and good fishing. The R/p crew.

Here we go again

Hello everyone, well that another one for the books. We arrived to Fisherman's landing at 07:00 hours. We unloaded our catch, cleaned the boat up, and loaded a new group of passengers. We departed Fisherman's at 10:30 hours, loaded bait and now we are headed for the Albacore grounds. We don't have the best bait in the world, and it won't surprise men if we lost a tank or two. So tomorrow will tell the story.

This is our limited load 5 day. We have 28 excited fishermen and one fisherwoman. We all look forward to, what tomorrow might bring. So wish us luck and we will kept you updated on our upcoming events.

P.S. If you got the time, we've got the place. We still have a few openings on our upcoming trip (departing 5 September on a 7 day trip). Give Scotty or Andrea' a call at our office (619) 226-8030.

A good finish (082507)

Hello everyone, well they say if thing are tough in life, just wait and things will change. Well that's what happened to us on the Royal Polaris. Firsts weather, our weather today was good, with a slight breeze out of the northwest, with flat seas, and overcast skies. The sun did make a slight showing, just enough to warm the blood up.

Now fishing today was excellent. We had excellent fishing in the afternoon on Albacore in the 20 to 30 pound range, with a few going over 40 pounds. These are beautiful fish. The good thing about today was, all the fish we saw. We would stop on school after school. Birds working most of the afternoon. At times it was hard trying to figure out what school of fish to try. It was the prefect way to end a trip. Are passenger had a blast today, with the good weather and great fishing.

We should arrive to Fisherman's landing at 07:00 hours. This was a very enjoyable trip, and most of our passenger can't wait until there next trip. So until my fingers meet the keyboard again, I wish you the best in your sport-fishing adventures. The R/p crew.

Moving up to the Albacore grounds (082407)

Hello everyone, well it was a up and down ride last night, but that's the weather. By mid-morning, the weather started to look a little bit better. We didn't arrive to the Albacore grounds until 12:00 hours. We did make a few stops on kelps on the way up, but it was a no go on the kelps. The first few hours of fishing was some what slow, if you know what I mean. But, by late afternoon, we started seeing more life, and catch quality grade Albacore.

Most of the Albacore were on bird schools, and meter marks. It was stop and go most of the afternoon, but by dinner, we would have a good catch of Albacore for today. Most of the Albacore were in the 22 to 30 pound range, with a few going over 35 pounds.

After dinner, some of our passenger had never seen a giant Squid before, so you know Roy, he made it for our new passenger, and they could not believe the size of some of the Squid we were catching. It was catch and release, but the one's that didn't make, they will be joining us for lunch tomorrow, if you know what I mean.

Our weather today was a bit chilly, with a slight breeze out of the northwest at 8 to 12 knots, with over cast skies most of the day. The weather now is just wonderful, with no wind, flat seas and great for sleeping, and that's what I'm going to do. So until tomorrow, good luck and good night. The R/p crew.

Slow at Guadalupe
Written by Royal Polaris
Thursday, 23 August 2007 18:56
Hello everyone, well our weather today was beautiful, that's just until we left Guadalupe island. Overcast skies in the morning, and a very warm afternoon. But thats not what we went to Guadalupe for, we went there in hopes of Yellowfin tuna.

Fishing today was on the slow side, with only a handful of Yellowtail and baby giants (small Yellowfin tuna). It was a very disappointing day of catching. So at 18:30 hours, Roy made the decision to make a move back to the Albacore grounds. So thats it wrapped up in a nut-shell.

We are hoping that the Albacore will be on the bite, so wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.
