Another fine day (110407)
Written by Royal Polaris

Hello everyone;
Weather continues to be good, with clear skies, flat seas, and warm days.

The weather was not the only thing that continues to be good, our fishing continues to be excellent. With Wahoo and Dorado making the majority of the catch. The Dorado are in the 18 to 25 pound class, with the Wahoo in the 30 to 50 pound catogory. The Marlin were not a problem today, but they made a brief showing in the afternoon.

We departed the area and headed for Magdalena bay for bait, and we will try our luck at some Yellowtail tomorrow, so until then wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Wahoo and Marlin continue to bite (110307)

Hello everyone;
Well, weather continues to be outstanding. We had flat seas today,
clear skies and a very warm day. It was a perfect day for tanning, but
that's not what we came down here for.

Fishing today was incredible, with Wahoo, Dorado, and Marlin, all
putting on a great show. I've been working on the Royal Polaris for over 15
years, and I've never seen Marlin fishing like this. I'll bet we released
over 80 Marlin today, all over the century mark, and a few Sailfish to boot.
Wahoo fishing was also on the upswing, with a few large Dorado. Most of the
Wahoo are in the 40 to 50 pound class, and the Dorado are in the 18 to 25
pound catogory. We ended up with 46 Wahoo and 20 Dorado, and who knows how
many Marlin we released. All Marlin were released

Roy made the decision to give this another day before we start
making our way north. Some people dream of trips like this one. Some of
our passengers have never seen a Marlin before, let along catch two or three
in the same day. But that's fishing. So with that in mind, wish us luck
and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. Until tomorrow, good
luck and good fishing. The R/p crew.

Marlin/Dorado on the bite (110207)
Written by Royal Polaris

Hello everyone;
Weather today was beautiful. We had 10 to 12 knots of breeze, clear skies, and all the sunshine you could ask for.

Fishing today can only be described by one work EPIC!!! We had excellent fishing on Dorado and Marlin. We had limits of Dorado and Marlin for the day. All the Marlin were released back to the ocean. Most of the Dorado were in the 12 to 18 pound range, with a few going to 25 pounds. Estamated weights on the Marlin were from 125 to 200 pounds, these were beautiful fish. All were released unharmed.

We are now headed for and area were most of the boats had good Wahoo and Dorado fishing, so we are hoping to get into more action on the Dorado and Wahoo tomorrow.

23 pays off on Yellows (110107)

Hello everyone;

Weather today was 12 to 15 knots of breeze, with very little sea, and clear skies. It was the prefect day for fishing.

We arrived to our destination at 07:00 hours, and it didn't take long for the Yellowtail to start biting. It was a fair to good pick most of the day. Most of the Yellowtail were in the 15 to 18 pound range, with a few going over 20 plus. We also caught a handful of Grouper.

We did some trolling today, and for our efforts we managed a few Wahoo. We headed for Magdalena bay for bait, and after an hour of bait making, we pulled our lines in and started heading south.

It was very poor on the tuna grounds today, but we are hoping it was the weather that made the fish go down. But we will find out tomorrow. So with that in mind, wish us luck and we will report back to you tomorrow. The R/p crew.

Boo!! Good morning everyone, I hope you had a safe Halloween.

Weather today was good, with 12 to 15 knots of breeze, with very little seas. Clear skies, and sunny.

We arrived to our destination at 08:30 hours, and we had good action most of the morning. We had good action on Yellowfin in the 12 to 15 pound catogory, with a few in the 60 to 75 pound range. But Yellowfin was not the only thing that was biting. We had quality Wahoo action on fish up to 70 pounds, and a hand full of Dorado and Yellowtail.

We are now headed to the ridge, and we are hoping for some quality Yellowtail. We have good reports from down south on quality Yellowfin tuna. So wish us luck and we will keep you updated on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Alijos or bust (103007)

Hi everyone;
Weather today was good for traveling south. Our day started out with a healthy breakfast, and an early morning seminar.
Roy talked about Wahoo fishing and what to expect once we arrive to Alijos rocks. There was a boat there a few days ago, but it was slow for them.

Once the seminar was over, the crew went to work, making sure everyone was ready to do battle. After lunch most of our passengers were ready, so many took time out to watch a movie, while others just enjoyed the sunshine and took a nap on the beach (the big green mat top-side).

After dinner we made a few stops for bait, but it was hard to come by. We should arrive to Alijos around 09:00 hours. So wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

Good morning everyone;

We arrived to Fisherman's landing at 06:00 hours, off loaded our passengers, and did a quick turn-around. We have a great load of bait, and now we are headed for points south.

Big "D" is back on the boat, so we will have photos for the next two trips. This is our annual limited load trip (20 passengers).

With good reports from down south, we look forward to this trip. If you have the time, we have a few spots open on our next 10 day trip. It departs on the 8th of November (Davis boats). If you never fished with Frank, then here's your chance. So give Scotty or Andrea' a call at our office (619) 226-8030.

So until tomorrow, wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.
