Tough Day
Written by Royal Polaris

Hello Everyone,
We had another tough day today, but it definitely not due to lack of fish. We had fish blowing out around the boat all day again today. They just flat don’t want to bite a hook bait. Several times throughout the day there were huge boils just a foot from the kite baits but just not on our hooks. We did manage 6 yellowfin, 4 in the 100-190lb category and two in the 50-80lb category. We also had sporadic dorado and marlin action throughout the day to keep things lively. Top fish honors went to Daniel Gasca with a beautiful 190lb tuna that came on a fly lined sardine. Our weather was absolutely flat calm gorgeous, and we hope it will continue. As for tomorrow we will start in the same area and hope that it will be the day that they start to bite. Wish us luck.

Great Show

Hello Everyone,
Well we had a great showing today on big tuna. All day long we had cows boiling around the boat. But unfortunately they didn’t bite as well as they showed. We ended up with 7 tuna for our efforts, 2 in the 100# class and the others going 160-250lbs. Big fish honors today went to Craig Drummond with a trophy 250lb class Yellowfin. Following close behind was David Harney with a beautiful 230lb class Yellowfin. Tomorrow we will be back at it in the same area looking for more of these monster grade tuna. Wish us luck.

Tough Day

Hello Everyone,
We enjoyed great weather today but unfortunately we were not as lucky in the fishing department. The day started off well with a batch of porpoise that gave up some decent tuna action on 25lb grade fish. But after a few passes they kind of got their fill of us and we opted to make a move toward the big fish area. We spent the rest of the day looking for fish on black porpoise. Though we were able to find a few nice spots of mammals none of them were holding cooperative fish. So tomorrow we will be back at it looking for big fish. Wish us luck.

Off to a Good Start

Hello Everyone,
We started out our trip well with steady action for our first half day of fishing. Before we could reach our destination, we were stopped by a giant kelp paddy that gave up some nice Dorado action along with one token Wahoo. Once we arrived and got the anchor down the fished moved in. The rest of our afternoon was kept busy with Yellowfin and Yellowtail. The Yellowfin were a nice grade with most of the fish in 25-30lb class we also had a few that went in the 40lb+ class. Tonight we will continue farther south in hopes of finding some better action on the tuna. Wish us luck.

Hi Folks,
We continued our southbound travel throughout the day today. Our weather was nice with a calm sea and 8 knots of at our backs. This morning Capt. Aaron gave a fishing seminar and everyone spent the rest of the day preparing tackle. We should arrive at our destination around eleven tomorrow morning, where we will try for tuna and wahoo. Wish us luck.

Hello everyone;

Weather continues to be wonderful, with flat seas, overcast skies. It is perfect for traveling home. We made a brief stop and tried for Red Rock-Cod, and then we called it a trip. We should arrive to Fisherman's landing at 05:45 hours. We will have an early departure on our next trip, so stay turned for our upcoming reports. Until then, good luck and good fishing. The R/p crew.

Hello everyone;

Weather continues to be gorgeous, with flat seas, clear skies and warm days. Our morning started early, with a move to the south-end of the island. After trying many spots on the south-end, it was time to do some looking. It was a very tough day of fishing, but we did manage to put together a fair day of fishing, with most of the Yellows in the 18 to 25 pound range. We will start to move north, and try our luck at some Red-Rock-Cod. So until tomorrow, wish us luck, the R/p crew.
